The Prime Minister of Inida, Mr Manmohan Singh would push for a Free Trade Agreement between India and China during his forthcoming visit to China. The preliminary work for this has already begun. This is in accordance with Mr Singh's perspective of "Look East" policy.

A FTA agreement would reduce costs in long run, will increase the efficiency of supply chain and will result in a better standard of life of the concerned people in both India and China. Such an agreement would be a boost to Chinese manufacturer's of electronic goods who see India as a destination and Indian IT industry which can bring radical change in China.
