What do you want to complain about? He seems to of just expressed himself without thinking prehaps a previous employee was a good friend of his/hers or prehaps many people from your company have walked in and he assumed that each person that comes in is a new employee. Dont worry about it to much - it was not aimed at you personnally and I am sure there is nothing to worry about.
