It was fifteen years ago, I came across this term the first time from a Japanese company whom my company used to import Japanese goods from. They sent out a form call APPRAISAL/ASSESSMENT to their regular clients yearly and requested them to assess or to grade the performance of their business dealing .It covered the followings areas:

I was so impressed at that time as such practises usually applied to service industries, such as Airline and restaurants ETC . We may also call it " feed back " in which such inputs would enhance your efficiency as well as strengthening your customer relationship. Psychologically customer would feel important you placed upon them.

I do think so. A good enterprise must have a right management mode. As saying goes, keeping is harder than developing and even winning.:D
