Funny Experience

I still remember clearly that was one year ago,there were three customers which is from one family,father,mother & son,all of these three are kind & optimistic,after long times' negotiation about business,it was time for supper,so i decided to bring them to a Western-style restaurant which they like beefsteak very much.3Ap5j ON

They all asked me to recommend the steaks to them,they said they believe my recommendation:L .Well,that was really a big task to me,anway,i just accepted the suggestions from the waiters & finally the food have confirmed.But the worst matter was about condiments towards the steak which the menu didnt show those clearly in English!!When waiters asked me which kind of condiments they wanted,i dotn know how to say:Q .At that time,i did think those three customers were the kindest ppl i've never met before,they said every condiments are ok for them:loveliness: :L .

But there was one thing,the son said to me that his mom dont like "spice".God knows that i have throwed most of the English words to my teacher but only a little in my mind now,ya,that means i didnt know what's the meaning of "spice",although the son just explained by gestures with facial expressions.He was very happy after i said i have got his meaning,but only god knew how confused i was at that time,but i just told to waiter that his mom didn't need "pepper" on her steak which was bad for her throat;P

Luckily ,l have met the PGX sales director who pay a visit for our company on Oct. ,though l have only worked here for two months at that time. -\P.`t$^:f

l have never have dinner with foreigners, so have no experience and feeling about that. As our main customers are Chinese ppls. To be honest ,l am not sure what position l act in our company, buyer(place order),foreign trader(trail order from PGX to Chinese end user, the process of customs clearance etc.),business assistant(contact with Chinese customers for some small things, deal with some files, translate some files etc. bird things--), office clerk( answer phone----):L

For I have been working in foreign trade for a few months, I met fewer clients face to face when they came to China. Chance is slim for most of the time we send mails.
:r&M*rp"Om [3q They are Germans, and it is not the first time for them to be China. First my boss and me picked them up from the airport. On our way back home, we come across the nestle which is used for the openning ceremony of Olympic, and my boss said to me, xx, tell them that nestle, I did.and they seem to be interest in it , too. So I asked them whether they would come to China next year. They are not sure. 2Mdf-IG
After we get to the company, they began talking something of business. Then time for lunch. Treat them with my boss together. Get the menu and place the order, I ask them whether they use spoon or chopsticks, they told me firmly that they??d like to use chopsticks. Faint,ok, let it be,chopsticks. But later the problem comes out, they are not so able to use chopsticks. When they are going to get that round-like dish, it is truly a difficult task fo them. It really takes them a long period to get that one. They chased after the ball for a long time before it finally went to their bowl. I wanted to laugh, but I stopped cos it was impolite. But funny, they refuse to use fork and spoon. And try their best to get what they want.
Lt*Iv?-I It is common to see such things. And I donot think it is very interesing. In the canton fair, I met a person stammered while speaking English. I think that is more funny.$]K@'aKJ

Well,it is really very funny for foreingers to learn using chopstickes,i also had one which extremely want to use chopstickes to eating with us,espcially the noodles,he like it very much,you may cannt image how funny it looks like when he eating by chopstickes:lol ,i do want laugh loudly,but whatever happened when they learnt,they always can insist and try their best,that is what we should learn:) also a litle moved by their spirit towards it:D

Perhaps as a salesman in foreign trade, some words in food are necessary, in fact, we can prepard for some words in canteen such as "spice,condiment,pepper" and so on. These words will help you in key time.

I've never met any clients from abroad, worse still, I never talk with them except for my foreign teacher.
