You must offer CNPJ for the clearance of the customs

CNPJ--tax ID, before you deliver the goods to Brazil, you must get the tax ID from your brazil customer, otherwise, your goods will return. I met this problem last week. :( :( :(

you need to put the CNPJ number on B/L, it is necessary.

the VAT

the exports and the imports require the VAT number for the customs clearnece.
