How to Haggle in China?

If you want to buy something at the market in China, you should remember that you can buy it at least half the initial price if you know how.

1.So many choices!Look around the market and choose what you want to buy. %MM xJ7J^ K\m

ns8N ZY+`,g n,G!Z5t 2.Ask the price. Even if you think the price is cheap, never show what you think. You should pretend to be surprised or outraged. They must ask you how much you're willing to pay. mp&mpO'SH
3.Offer 1/3~1/5 the price. They might be angry or pretend not to want to sell it.
;W Y(A c!P7h vk 4.Don't worry. Just leave. They will call you and offer a middle price.
v(}7n2F't 5.Offer the same price one more time. They might offer a lower price than before.
1c_3N;W8t/A"[7d 6.Do it again and again. You could offer a little higher price. After the haggling you should be able to buy it at half off, or more, of the first price. E,{ r9h-g(ktu

Tips RxE&YyF`
1 When you offer one-fifth the price and pretend to leave, if they don't call you, you can't buy it with that price. You should offer a higher price in another shop. mt9pNwwV"I
2 If possible, you should have a firm grasp of Chinese phrases such as "How much?" and "That's much too expensive!" The more Chinese you know, the more successful your haggling can be.
,v2_'q V KB 3 If this is all new to you, practice on a lower priced item which you don't care that much about. This way you will get the hang of how this works before trying it with an item which you strongly wish to buy. m.lc2K| [g _q
4 Maybe I'm just lucky, but if you have friends who are native to the area, they usually know how low the natives can haggle, get some advice from them...and add it on Wikihow when you find a computer

Your success can depend on how perceptive you are. You should try to determine from the clerk's facial expression and whether the clerk will change his/her mind.

some of our foreign customers tell me, but maybe now more and more come to China, and they know in China you have to bargain with the seller, otherwise you'll be killed on the prices:P

First, I wanna know if the first floorer is a foreign friend or a chinese,  you are so smart, so familiar with chinese people and the domestic market.  I am not good at haggling, sometime I hate it, so I seldom go to that place, just go to the supermarket, and go to the booth fetch what I wanna buy, then pay it. In the supermarket, neednot haggle.  But my girlfriend like shopping in the wholesale market, and she has the patience to haggle. Often she bargain with the seller, she gets it. :victory: :victory:

The haggling way offered by the poster is great and creative, but i dare not to counter-offer 1/3-1/5 of the initial price,in that case, maybe the seller will regard me as an insane!in most place of China,count-off 1/2 of the orginal price is enough!5G?#?+s3@e\
anyway,i prefer to purchase in franchise store where price is more reasonable!
